We are a full-service showing and sales barn offering hunter, jumper and equitation training at all levels in a fun, family oriented environment. Blue Fox Farm has been owned and operated for the last 30 years by nationally acclaimed hunter/jumper trainer, judge and course designers, Nancy and Kenny Nordstrom. As a part of our training program we are able to offer years of experience on the national show circuit to those clients that show year round at A-circuit as well as county shows ranging from LA to San Diego. Additionally we offer beginner riding instruction on our own horses and ponies for those who wish to get started in their riding careers.

Back in the Saddle

While many of our friends and peers in the horse industry in Sourthern California were still waiting for their rings to dry out, we at Blue Fox Farms were lucky enough to have a dry upper ring. We were back riding on Saturday, as soon as the rain finally gave up. The horses were definitely feeling a little fresh, but they all were on their best behavior and tried to contain all that pent up energy! We can't really blame them, seeing as their spent an entire week in their stalls or on the walker. Once again, we are so lucky to have a covered eurociser. It made life much easier getting the horses back to work. Not only did they not lose their conditioning during the rain, but they also got to get some exercise so they weren't complete loose cannons once the riding began again. Now lets just hope the rain gives us a little break. C'mon Mother Nature.....lets take at least a month off ;-)

Banquet Time!

This past Saturday, Blue Fox Farms attended the GSDHJA Annual Awards Banquet at The Bahia Hotel in Mission Bay. Everyone got all dolled up in their best outfits for a wonderful evening of celebration, camaraderie, acknowledgment, and of course, fun! It's always so interesting to see the all the riders dressed up, instead of their usual attire of breeches and boots.

The Banquet honors the accumulation of points throughout the entire show season and gives awards to those who have earned the most throughout the year. Lets give a round of applause to the following riders from BFF who received awards this year.

Elizabeth Deupree
Crossrails Achievement
Short Stirrup Achievement
Walk/Trot Achievement

Rachel Deupree
Mini Medal Winner

Kayley Melton
Crossrails Achievement
Short Stirrup Acheivement

Alexandra Varns and Lucky Charm
7th place Low Children's/AA Jumpers
5th place Pony Jumpers

Congrats again to the entire BFF show team for a successful season in 2009. We are all so excited to see what 2010 brings! Its going to be our year :-)

Tut, Tut, It looks like rain...

Monsoon San Diego has arrived..... Though we are all fully aware that the rain has been long overdue, it does make the equestrian life a little difficult. We are so lucky, however, to have the new addition of a cover for our equisizer. We want to thank Bryan Keith, Nancy and Kenny Nordstrom, and everyone who helped make the cover a possibility. Our horses are all snuggled in their stalls, with their blankets on, but everyone gets to go for a good walk today and all week! Though we're not fans of the rain, this new addition is sure making life easier :-)

Everything at the barn is surviving the storm well. There have been plenty of sandbags filled and ditches dug, but overall things have gone smoothly (knock on wood).

Hope everyone else is staying dry and safe!
