On a side note: The rain still hasn't affected us too much. Maybe a day here or there, but our arenas has been holding up phenomenally! We are so happy and lucky to have such great footing and that even on our days off from rain our horses are getting worked in the equiciser.

Hope all is well with everyone else!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

With all this rain we’ve been having in Southern California, many of us in the equestrian world have been missing out on our riding time and our barn time in general. Here at Blue Fox Farms, however, we’ve been taking advantage of our rain days by teaching plenty of “dry lessons”. Dry lessons are lessons focused on horsemanship done from the ground. They can include anything from parts of the horse and tack for beginners to application of first aid, medications, and wrapping for more advanced riders and horse-people. Horsemanship is very important to us here at BFF and this rain has provided us an excellent opportunity to teach it and the utilization of these lessons also provides students and clients alike the opportunity to come to the barn and visit their favorite hooved friends. Last week, Lulu Barger learned parts of the horse with the help of the lovely Stormy. The lesson included post-its, glitter glue and a marker or two. Never a dull day here at Blue Fox Farms!!
